CITROEN’S new city car, the C1, will debut at Geneva.

There will be 3dr, 5dr and an open-top body Airscape.

It will have a 7ins ‘touch driver’ interface and mirror screen technology, which can copy and run smartphone apps from the touchscreen. They say there are plenty of storage compartments in the cabin, and the boot manages to stretch to 196 litres with the rear seats up and 780 with them folded.

There’s a new electric power steering system and tyres (14ins, 15ins), with low rolling resistance to help lower fuel consumption.

The engines include an e-VTi 68 Airdream, with 5spd gearbox and a VTi 68 with clutchless ETG (Efficient Tronic Gearbox) as well as a VTi 82, 1.2 litre 3cyl 82bhp petrol (4.3l/100km, 99g/km).
